    CALL FOR APPLICATIONS
    Promoting Flavor Research amongst PhD Students

     Greetings!!

    As you may have already seen, the programme to promote Flavor Research amongst PhD Students in Europe by awarding 6 first year bursaries and 1 best thesis prize is a great success with enthusiastic participation from many universities across Europe for both the first year bursary and the best thesis awards. Based on this success, the consortium of companies comprising of:

    ·         DSM Food Specialities
    ·         Givaudan
    ·         Kerry
    ·         Kikkoman
    ·         Lesaffre International
    ·         MCLS Europe
    ·         Nestle

    are continuing to support the programme, now in its tenth year.

    Giract is thus proud to announce the 10th edition of the programme which will be applicable to the students in the academic year 2019/2020 across all universities in Europe. We sincerely hope that the programme and its unique awards will continue to increase interest by students about to embark on a PhD research as well as by those who have already chosen flavor research as their subject. This tenth edition is also organised by Giract and co-ordinated by Prof. Andy Taylor from the University of Nottingham, UK.

    We are enclosing the following documents with this mail:

    -     a poster announcing the tenth edition of this programme for the academic year 2019-2020. This poster should ideally be printed and displayed on one or more appropriate notice boards in your department/university. Kindly also post it in a prominent position on your intranet.

    -      a road-map document that provides all the details about this programme. Research areas that can be examined in the context of PhD studies from the sponsor group is listed in this document.

    We believe that students who are interested in pursuing their studies at a PhD level will first examine the websites of the various universities and the presence of the link to Giract’s programme http://www.giract.com/flavor-research-programme.php may provide an additional reason for the student to opt for flavor studies. We would thus be grateful if you could arrange to have this link on the relevant page(s) of the University/department website.
